Blakedene Road
A garden with a ‘Wow-Factor’ and that provides a total escape from a very demanding work life.
Dark materials blend to create a dramatic backdrop to the planting. Features include Steel panels that will rust in time to give a lovely patina to the metal.
A small vegetable garden backed by a stunning stonework wall and separated from the main garden by a feature wall painted aubergine which with furniture will provide an alternative seating area for morning coffee.
Pleached evergreen trees will grow together to form a dense ‘hedge on stilts’ to give privacy to the garden, under-planting gives interest throughout the year.
The planting is mainly evergreen with an emphasis on texture and form, with some stunning structural plants giving instant height and volume to the planting. Raised beds deal with the level changes and also give a larger space at ground level for entertaining.
The curved deck creates a distinct divide between the two paved areas, once the planting around the circular patio has matured further, this area will be an enclosure of peace to enjoy an evening drink and relax. The curved deck also creates an entrance and guides you into the garden from another exit from the house.
“Sarah and her team have been a pleasure to work with to create a beautiful garden from what was a dark overgrown useless space. From the initial design to completion, Sarah’s aim was to create a garden we were 100% happy with; she has certainly achieved this. Stunning result!”
